You get angry over stuff not worth being angered about though. The reason I'm contemptuous of you two (ie. Von) is because it's all so f'ing stupid I can't believe it.

I'm not angry about it in the slightest. Just incredulous and to a certain extent contemptuous. You get angry over stuff not worth being angered about though.
Now you know how I feel when I talk to you about orthodoxy, except I don't hold you in contempt for it. Like you, I chalk it up to ignorance. So it looks like we are even now then but I suppose you'll find something to disagree with there too, lol.I'm not angry about it in the slightest. Don't confuse my contempt over the flat earth bs with contempt for your faith. Now you know how I feel when I talk to you about orthodoxy, except I don't hold you in contempt for it. I didn't confuse that. I'm just saying when it comes to my lack of ball earth belief you say "ignorance" the same way I say ignorance when it comes to protestant christianity. I don't hold you in contempt for being reform.Don't confuse my contempt over the flat earth bs with contempt for your faith.
I don't agree with the Orthodox church entirely but I don't hold them or you in contempt for your denomination.
Almost everyone who walked on the moon has been on their death bed, and not one thought that the “truth should be known”?Why would they torpedo their own career by coming out with the truth later? Those are all people with very high security clearances, deceit is part of the job even if the space program was 100 percent real. That's something to consider.
Many CIA guys never spilled the beans on their deathbed either. If they confess to a priest, the priest holds that in confidence at risk of his own salvation. Plus, who is at the death bedside? Family. Family that stand to inherit a fortune, and a legacy. Wouldn't make sense to risk tarnishing that at that point.Almost everyone who walked on the moon has been on their death bed, and not one thought that the “truth should be known”?
It just doesn’t make any sense. I could see if we did it one time to say “hey we beat Russia!”, people would be skeptical. Many CIA guys never spilled the beans on their deathbed either. I see everything space related as speculative mostly. I'm required to trust the word of other people I don't know about what people I don't know did and these aren't small claims, they are huge claims. An many of the people are not trustworthy people. Von Braun, a former ranking nazi, for example, is not a trustworthy person. Some people doubt Christ, I doubt the space program. It just doesn’t make any sense. I could see if we did it one time to say “hey we beat Russia!”, people would be skeptical.
But we went there like 5 more times after that, to very little fanfare really. Most people can’t name any of the astronauts from the subsequent visits. It was just boring science stuff
I think you do Christianity a great disservice by implying Flat Earth conspiracies and Christianity are somehow linked. You do not have to believe in a flat earth to be a Christian. All you do is make Christians look like irrational idiots when in fact most Christians do not believe in flat earths. Some people doubt Christ, I doubt the space program.
Where did I imply that? I did copy.paste some scriptures that definitely wouldn't point to a ball earth. I don't even believe flat earth stuff, for the millionth time. I just don't believe ball earth stuff either.I think you do Christianity a great disservice by implying Flat Earth conspiracies and Christianity are somehow linked.
I never said you had to be a flat earth believer to be a christian. I'm not a flat earth believer. Protestants screaming at people from the street corner about how they are going to hell do a better job at making christians look like idiots than me not buying into NASA fairy tales. The official stance of the orthodox church is "we don't know" and that is my official stance also. You do not have to believe in a flat earth to be a Christian. All you do is make Christians look like irrational idiots when in fact most Christians do not believe in flat earths.
That statement is putting the two things together isn't it. It's implied - not explicit. Also, by saying the Bible refers to the "heavens" so there's no such thing as space etc.Where did I imply that?
Some people doubt Christ, I doubt the space program.
It's not implied, it implies my doubt of a ball earth system. "Space" wasn't used to describe the heavens until more recent times, therefore it is a junk term used to usurp the spiritual connotations of the original wording. That statement is putting the two things together isn't it. I don't agree with that. Like it or not, the Bible says a lot of people are going to go to hell. I wish more Christians including myself would be brave enough to go to a street corner and evangelise. At least that would be doing what Jesus told us to do i.e. the great commission.Protestants screaming at people from the street corner about how they are going to hell do a better job at making christians look like idiots
But it's not a junk term. It's just a term to describe reality. Like computer is a term or piano is a term. They didn't have knowledge of them back then. You can come up with a new word to describe new discoveries. There was no word in the Bible for Australia or America either. It's not implied, it implies my doubt of a ball earth system. "Space" wasn't used to describe the heavens until more recent times, therefore it is a junk term used to usurp the spiritual connotations of the original wording.
Screaming at people that they are going to hell while they are having a night out or on their way to a movie is not how you win hearts and minds. Small orthodox parishes are filling up with people who are sick of the extra judgmental version of christianity. The Ben Waylin Church of Latter Day Taints doesn't work for crap. The church is a hospital, not a courtroom.I don't agree with that. Like it or not, the Bible says a lot of people are going to go to hell. You're the one calling it screaming. However you do need to tell people what the Bible says. It has truths that need to be heard. God maybe a God of love but you also need to fear God.Screaming at people that they are going to hell while they are having a night out or on their way to a movie is not how you win hearts and minds. The term was first used in a work of fiction. Fitting. But it's not a junk term. It's just a term to describe reality.
