Orthodoxy doesn't teach that we do.You don't get to heaven via empty rituals mate.
And you can’t wrap your head around the inspired word taking precedence over those traditionsThey can't wrap their heads around the idea that the early church was made up of holy traditions. The scriptures came later and the actual completed bible as we know it, much later, like 200 years later.
Correct you commune with Him via faith and faith alone as Paul labored over REPEATEDLYOrthodoxy doesn't teach that we do.
You don't commune with the Lord via discount grape juice and bread flakes, mate.
They are inseparably intertwined, that's where you miss the boat. Sola Scripture, or "scripture only" is a heresy and a big reason why protestants all disagree with each other and every church makes a different "statement of faith".And you can’t wrap your head around the inspired word taking precedence over those traditions
Sola scriptura isn't in the Bible either. They are inseparably intertwined, that's where you miss the boat. Sola Scripture, or "scripture only" is a heresy and a big reason why protestants all disagree with each other and every church makes a different "statement of faith".
Correct @thumpickerYou don't get to heaven via empty rituals mate.
You don't say 10 hail Mary's and one our father and confess to a priest who waves an incense burner and mumbles some latin at you.
Or light a votive candle and twiddle some rosaries.
If you commune via faith then why bother with actual communion? OH IT"S SYMBOLIC. Then just draw a picture of it then. Dwell on it for a while, that should be good enough. Pour a cup of welch's and it's all good bruh.Correct you commune with Him via faith and faith alone as Paul labored over REPEATEDLY
Sure isSola scriptura isn't in the Bible either.
It tells me to hold fast to what was passed down to us i.e orthodoxy in 2 Thess 2 15@von - here is what scripture says about your traditions.
It's symbolic in the sense that the elements of communion are not real the real blood and body of Christ but it's still has a spiritual meaning to us. We still take it very seriously. If you commune via faith then why bother with actual communion? OH IT"S SYMBOLIC. Then just draw a picture of it then. Dwell on it for a while, that should be good enough. Pour a cup of welch's and it's all good bruh.
Because John 6 53 that's why.
Yeah, like I said before, that's your interpretation.Sure is
Col 2:8
Christs words alone
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

So if a man is on his death bed and was an unbeliever his whole life but then repents and in faith submits to Christ just before He dies your position is because he never took communion he never enters heaven? If you commune via faith then why bother with actual communion? OH IT"S SYMBOLIC. Then just draw a picture of it then. Dwell on it for a while, that should be good enough. Pour a cup of welch's and it's all good bruh.

No, you don't. You use cheap grape juice from plastic cups and little flakes of bread spread around a silver platter. Your empty rituals won't save you. It's symbolic but it's spiritual. We still take it very seriously.
Did you read it?Yeah, like I said before, that's your interpretation.
No they won’t - as per scripture faith in Christ will. No, you don't. You use cheap grape juice from plastic cups and little flakes of bread spread around a silver platter. Your empty rituals won't save you.
What is passed down to us is the word of God via the Bible. You inserted the word Orthodoxy. It tells me to hold fast to what was passed down to us i.e orthodoxy in 2 Thess 2 15
The theif on the crossSo if a man is on his death bed and was an unbeliever his whole life but then repents and in faith submits to Christ just before He dies your position is because he never took communion he never enters heaven?
Doesn’t work for the their on the cross bro who that day was with Jesus in paradise
Orthodox or non orthodox? If he is non-orthodox he is treated and judged as someone outside orthodoxy. That doesn't mean he cannot go to heaven, it just means if he does go to heaven his reward will be less than someone who lived a similar life but was orthodox and did take communion. So if a man is on his death bed and was an unbeliever his whole life but then repents and in faith submits to Christ just before He dies your position is because he never took communion he never enters heaven?
Yes, that is Dismas and he is a saint in the orthodox church. Gesmas was unrepentant and did not enter Paradise with the Lord.Doesn’t work for the their on the cross bro who that day was with Jesus in paradise
No and we don't believe rituals save us. Communion does not save us. Communion is an act of obedience, reverence and remembrance out of love for what Jesus did for us on the cross. No, you don't. You use cheap grape juice from plastic cups and little flakes of bread spread around a silver platter. Your empty rituals won't save you.
