Paul def told us to keep the traditions that were handed us (speaking of those taught by the early church fathers).

2 Thess 2 15
NOPE, not if they were not in line with Christ.

'See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, and not according to Christ. '

Colossians 2:8

Just talking from the heart to Von or whoever. Dont have time to read thru the whole thread. If you trust in anything other than Christs perfect, holy shed blood, substitutionary death and bodily resurrection on the 3rd day for your eternal salvation, you will not be saved. Period! Only trust in Christs finished redemptive work for your eternal salvation!! Thats why the Holy Spirit chastens the believer! Thats why Paul tells us not to grieve the Holy Spirit that you are sealed with unto the day of redemption.

The writings of the early church fathers aren't philosophy my man.

Now tell me your scriptural source for Mary's death. Tell me why early christians were called cannibals if it's just symbolic and not he true body and blood of Christ. You're falling apart....and getting angry about it.

Ask Von :ROFLMAO:

...but seriously, do you think they are just making it up or something?
you keep saying "ask von" and then you engage.
do you have anything to bring to this, or are you just a spectator instigating?

like, what is it that you believe?
can you support any claims on your own? is von your attorney or something.

No, you're saying 'I'm right and you're wrong.' ...You're arguing col 2:8 precludes tradition and the writings of the church fathers which it doesn't.
Well there's Revelation 22 18-19

For I testify together to everyone who hears the Words of the prophecy of this Book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add on him the plagues that have been written in this Book. And if anyone takes away from the Words of the Book of this prophecy, God will take away his part out of the Book of Life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which have been written in this Book.”

It applies to Revelation but it is also a general princple about the word of God.

He doesn't know - he just has a crush on Vonbonfire - he's one of his "minions" lol

According to you and your protestant perspective. You're caught up believing that the bible adjudicates the matter when it simply doesn't.
sorry man, I'm done conversing with you.
you can't articulate anything yourself, you just appeal to Von.
I'll focus on Von.

it isn't a perspective it's clear writing. Paul says it right there.
again you appeal to "your interpretation" while at the same time asking me to adhere to the "interpretation" of the early church.

it's contradiction galore.

Well stated. This ^ is 100 percent orthodox theology.

I guess, the dude can't validate anything.
all he says is "your interpretation"

but then expects me to follow the blind "interpretation of the early church.

Wrong again. Me and acceptance butted heads HARD on the last religion thread. But thankfully, we are friends regardless of our religious beliefs. It's sad that even a non christian is now working on your easily torn down sola scriptura heresies.

Me? ...I'm just an innocent bystander. 😇

I am interested in the topic though. I am not Christian. Von will tell you I've even identified as Luciferian  ... but not really. Or not really enough to argue it, but I do find it interesting.

but you have already shown that is not what you believe.
you believe in a works based righteousness.

you stated early on in this conversation that one must partake of the lords suppers.
so which is it?
Christ's finished work, or partaking of the Lords supper?

geez man, what a waste of time
just a pot stirrer.

that makes perfect sense now.

2 Cor 6:14

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? 16Or what agreement has a sanctuary of God with idols?

I told him the Early Church go a lot wrong and got corrected by Paul a lot. It's just a shame Paul couldn't have been around for a few centuries to keep them on the straight and narrow.

What specifically are you asking for? I think the problem is that in your rush to parrot all the evangelical apologetics you've been taught you are glossing over everything I say. I told you I can't answer specific questions about Orthodoxy, which is why I defer to Von. But I can say that the reasoning behind the argument is sound.

I always thought that one was about marriage but I guess that's a narrow interpretation. So yes it applies more broadly to minions as well haha

"the reasoning behind the argument is sound"

from a "luciferian"
