So what stupid point are you making - we are allowed to celebrate whatever we want as long as it's not idolatry or immoral etc or breaking some other command.
So the birthday of the pagan sun god sol invictus is ok to celebrate. Got it. It's not in the bible. It's not a word found in the bible. Your sola scriptura has failed you and made you out to be a hypocrite.

Also define celebrate. I'm not celebrating Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny that's for sure.
Saint Nicholas is a legitimate saint in orthodoxy. So Santa has a basis in reality. Welcome to holy tradition mate. You're finally starting to catch on.

What in the Bible says you can't venerate Mary?
Ooof, you just put a whammy on 'em. Christmas not in bible but "nothing says we can't celebrate it" Venerating Mary not found in bible but "nothing in there says we can't". Holy tradition is something I wish more westerners were exposed to. In conjunction with scripture it provides the fullness and richness of the faith.

Sure got quiet in here.....

They must've went to a Vespers service. ☦️
Mate I have kitchen contractors here I can't type all day. We don't celebrate any pagan gods associated with the events. We enjoy a dinner with family we give gifts. We remember Jesus birth and take the secular stuff on TV etc with a grain of salt. We live in the world but not of the world.

We remember Jesus birth
Show me in the bible where it says "Christmas". You can't. You hinged your whole argument around scripture and then it fell apart when you admitted celebrating parts of christianity that stem from holy tradition rather than the bible.

The gospel isn't compatible with secular logic. You are demonstrating your lack of application by insulting me repeatedly over a theological discussion that you just lost because your own claims weren't consistent. You advocated for non biblical holidays. But as i said, welcome to orthodoxy. You can dispense with your legalistic sola scriptura spiritual strait jacket now.

You stand alone my friend.

Rare for Protestants to disagree with their pastor -- they just go find another church!
I am pretty sure both of those two hold beliefs that neither of their pastors would agree with. Then again I'm not even sure monte goes to church. Truthfully he's just living out the protestant way, making himself bishop and authority over scripture. All protestants do that, it's part of their brand of faith. Each of them thinks that they can make correct interpretation informed by the holy spirit. The problem is they deny the holy tradition and the writings of the church fathers, which, along with the holy spirit, are there to guide us away from heresies like "sola scriptura". They removed the guide posts and are basically going 4x4'ing with theology. Completely off the rails. Hence stuff like lesbian pastors and snake handlers and people basically voodoo trance dancing in the aisles.

Yes says the man who is a gigging blues musician playing secular music. He is something else isn't he.

Again there is no prohibition against secular things as long as they aren't breaking any commandment.

Luke 6:45
The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil. For his mouth speaks from the abundance of his heart.

Yes but Christmas is a religious holiday and it is found in holy tradition but not in the bible. You will become orthodox one day. This is the process you are experiencing now; the removal of your previously held heretical beliefs i.e "sola scriptura". It's painful, I get it.
