We can still celebrate Christmas as the time Jesus' birth even if it truly may well not be the exact time of year it happened. We mark the occasion. Nothing wrong with that.

If Christmas draws attention to Jesus each year to people who may not be exposed to it during the year then that's a good thing.

All publicity is good publicity Thumbpicker 3.12
correct Paul's text in Romans 14 gives freedom for one to celebrate as one wishes.
these are secondary issues.
mary being sinless
or the church having the ultimate authority
or veneration
these are deal breakers and anyone holding to them is not a Christian.

A protestant who doesn't celebrate christmas and believes in sola scriptura is probably a protestant who doesn't even go to church.

Monte, what's your denomination or are you just going to say "bible believing church" and then accept Christmas gifts from the congregation?
Define celebrate Christmas...

We celebrate Christmas as Christians as the time of Jesus' birth.

Most of us celebrate Christmas in a secular way as well as time to be with family although we know full well that's not the meaning of Christmas.

In Australia, we don't have thanksgiving either so Christmas is when we have our Turkey/pork/chicken/ham etc Christmas pudding and custard. Baked potatoes, vegies, salad whatever... Sometimes some people have seafood. It's summer here.

Christmas isn't in the bible and now you are saying it's ok to celebrate as you wish.

You guys are falling apart.
You're kidding we still live life - we don't just have to celebrate Christian festivals. I can celebrate Anzac Day here too (like your remembrance day). So what? It's not against our religion to do that.

Where does it say in the Bible I can't enjoy myself and enjoy life.

The important thing is to put God first in your life - not many people will do that perfectly in their lives I can tell you that now so that's a sin that you need to pray about but celebrating Christmas is not a sin.

So if it's not in the bible and you still celebrate it, where did it come from?

Oh yeah, HOLY TRADITION!!!

Go ahead and unwrap those gifts boys!!!!

slander is a sin friend. I'd appreciate it if you stop slandering me.
Already said 4 times I don't celebrate Christmas, but celebrating Christmas isn't a sin. So unless you can prove from scripture (but let's be honest we all know you don't know your bible) it would be wise to pipe down on that issue.

I attend a Christian Church.
We don't call ourselves Baptist but adhere to the 1689 confession of faith.
I am credo and not paedo so there is that.

Christmas isn't a word found in the bible so now by your own standards you are nothing more than a liar.

IT"S NOT IN THE BIBLE YOU MEGA HYPOCRITE.
uh, people can go to rock concerts and see movies and listen to music moron.
people can celebrate christmas and exchanging gifts or abstain,
this isn't even anywhere in the same realm as the topic of discussion.

you are really reaching.

But you do....and it isn't in the bible.
Ecclesiastes 8:15 Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun than to eat and to drink and to be merry, for that shall abide with him from his labor the days of his life, which God giveth him under the sun.

Hey @MontiCristo
@VonBonfire is a gigging blues musician playing the devil's music ;-) I wonder if he has a mojo hand and has been down to the crossroads and sold his soul to the devil to play better like Robert Johnson.

Christmas isn't a word found in the bible and you are defending something that sprung from holy tradition. Welcome to orthodoxy, brother.
no the difference here idiot is you are saying definitively that mary was sinless.
I'm saying we are free to either exchange gifts with our families or not. It's not in scripture.

really easy to understand.

You'd be much more likely to be condemned for that among baptists than you would orthodox. We worry about what is on our plate, not everyone else's like you protestants do with your outward christianity.

he really think's he's onto something with this christmas thing.
let's sit back and watch him spill milk all over his jumper again.
should be fun.

Christmas isn't in the bible.
we are free to either partake of it or not. There is nothing explicit about it either way.

I see we are name calling.

Christmas isn't in the bible. Why are you defending it? You took a position and now you are backtracking. It's not in the bible. Quit defending holy tradition.

Absolutely we are. God has given us freedom to enjoy ourselves within his commandments.
