It seems to nail that hot-rodded 80s Marshall tone. Then again, there are plenty of significantly cheaper amps that do that as well :-)

The amp sounds really good. With that said, at that price point I won't be able to own one. Mr. Suhr can price them as he sees fit. That's fine. I just can't justify spending that much money on an amp when I don't make a living by playing music. I hope he sells them like crazy though.

Man forget all this noise about people not digging this amp or it not being worth the price. That drop tune video alone...shoot I wish I could get my Naked sounding that sweet. It is chunky but still somewhat sterile. That is one killer sounding amp & if I had the spare change, I would love one of those.

Sorry for the necrobump here, but does anyone on the forum own an SE-100?

I can't find any good clips and obviously these aren't exactly sitting around at local GC's for me to screw around with...

I ordered one in February but still waiting...I emailed Suhr yesterday for an update.

Ah ok, it doesn't look like any have shipped...Did your dealer or suhr tell you how long it would be till the amp ships when you first ordered?

Oh that's interesting, I think I'll wait on the sidelines for this one to play out. Appreciate your feedback, these are looking really good so I hope suhr gets it figured out

One just sold on TGP so they do exist but it wasn't the Blackout version. Was handwired though.

Oh shit, completely missed that...do you know selling or listing price?

Wow, I like it. The amp type I want now ARE all priced at $3000.00!!

i don't see anyone complaining about the price tag on dave friedman's amps which is about the same.
i thought it sounds ok but like may other have said it's possible to get the same tone at a 2/3 of the price minus the name tag and perhaps long term reliability?
That said the 5150 50 watt for 999.99 sure makes this look unappealing to the average guitar mope….key word-AVERAGE.

In person is where those higher end amps feel better than the 999 amps.

I see no issue with the price. If it is not what you want, then be happy there are many choices.

exchanged a couple of PMs with the guy that was selling his SE-100HW on TGP, he said that the bottom end was too loose for him

This is the first "real-world" user feedback i've heard for this amp, so thought people might be interested

if someone was in the market for this style amp, it would be tough to take this over the Friedman BE100...which is know for being tight

totally hear you guys

between the be100 and cameron ob i often think my modded marshall tones are covered, but i'm just really curious about john suhrs take

i personally find my be100 to be the most sensitive to how i am hitting the strings with both of my hands, the feel on that amp is kinda out of this world

can't wait for some more people to get their se-100hw (normal or blackout editions) so we can get some clips up!

And it usually in person when I've heard, what everyone calls higher end amps, and I say to myself that Mesa's and Marshall's are all that's needed for me.

What I find funny is when some top player demo's an amp and everyone who happens to own that amp joins in the discussion, high 5's are exchanged, virtual bro hugs are exchanged, everyone is jerking eachother off that they're part of the bro club of said amp. And it's always the AMP that sounds great.

But then, their dreams are crushed when the top player who was carrying the torch for said amp switches to a different brand, let's say a more well known amp that the forum bro snobs deem an inferior brand. And all of a sudden you hear, " Well, he could make a blender sound great" :D

Didn't ZZ Top tour (love Billy Gibbons' tone) with Crate's several years ago? Sure tone is in the hands...find an amp you like. (<---that's period)

Does this thing sound like the PT100 (I own one) to you guys? SE+ same platform  .
