My first and last post regarding this issue.

Rig-Talk is not a 3-5 man forum. It is a family of nearly $4000 members who come here to discuss
gear and not some "childish drama" on the INTERNET!! Some people here don't effing care what's going on
between individuals and they know how to tune out all these. I can live and co-exist with just about everyone
and learn to ignore stupid posts and idiot forum members.

Let's keep the forum and preserve what we have here. Forumites can leave or stay, annoy and harrass for all I care. Maybe that's what I learned hanging out at HCAF and read annoying posts with "teh, maps, lulz and brootalz" all the time.

There are other members here who doesn't give a rat's ass on whats happening. Can we now have our forum back?!!!!

You would sell an Internet forum with a guarantee or warranty? This forum will become whatever the buyer makes it. I can't make guarantees for their success or failure, whether or not they'll know how to run the board, etc. The lack of warranty would hold true regardless of whether or not Carl was here.

You folks are welcome at the Diner if this place folds but the atmosphere is considerably more laid back ... actually, "boring" according to Carl. On the other hand, it is a Carl Free Zone.

I disagree (sorry , I try to be respectful about it at least) . . There are 2 sides to every issue.. On some issues there are more than 2 sides, i.e. 3 dimensional issues .. (ok bad attempt at humor, but I'm actually being very serious simultaneously) .. I don't support any of the crap that went on here, BUT at the same time , I support a certain choice the moderator made , and I'm not the only one... I don't live my life with that kind of stupid bickering at all , and don't support it.. BUT I come to this forum for guitar/amp discussions..> Those discussions are different here than at the Diner, HC, TGP ,etc.. They each have their own dynamic. . THere's no friggin way 1, 2 , 3, or 5 people ruin a forum for me.. There's still plenty of others in the forum that are there for a similar reason I am. .

He posts something the equivalent of smoking a cigarette in a smoke-free bar. After that, everyone starts pouring gasoline, and building it more and more, with people that have a LONG memory, and have a very hard time letting things go. Eventually you get something like this.

If you flat out ignore the cigarette...it'll burn out within 2 minutes, and life goes on. Sure, it stunk up the place, but, at the end of the day, it don't matta.

I saw a much less vibrant forum get sold in the acoustic world for $25k not too long ago. The buyers had no clue what they were doing, only that they were in the acoustic retail business and thought that particular forum would be a good investment. They will never recoup their investment and I doubt the forum has brought them a single dollar in business ... or good will.

I agree with you on many things but this I cannot. Whether it's "real life" or on computer the words have as much meaning as you give them. I suppose that because it's a computer screen, somehow that's not as tangible and people can act differently from how they would in person. Some are like that. I'm not. The words I read here are those of people that I personally know. Hell, I've been to a couple of your gigs.

The fact is: Certain things are either endorsed or they're not, and Carl's douchebaggery was apparently endorsed by the Powers that be, and not acceptable by several in the community. It seems that there are many who feel continued exposure to Carl's BS, was tolerable and should be tolerated by others--in the form of ignoring his disruptive presence.

Carl and his ridiculous antics, IMO-- is not someone who should be tolerated by anyone, EVER... It only fosters others mimicing his nonsense.

Inaction/indifference doesn't quantify endorsement.

I'm sure Bob's and Chris's perspective on it, as it was established when the forum was founded, is that we tend to "self-moderate", and, ideally, because of that, they would never have to "ban" anyone.
