I see you have an FX8, I’ve been considering selling my 6505MH and getting an FM9/headphones for a noodling amp. How do either compare for practicing? Worth keeping around my 6505MH?

I just grabbed this because it was dirt cheap(scored a deal on it) and when I don't feel like firing up the Splawn I use it to practice and noodle through. It's officially my "back up head" in case the splawn dies on me. the FX 8 is effects only , no modeling. I used to have an Axe FX II that I used to use for practicing/noodling all the time. I ran it through a pair of KRL Rokit 8 monitors and it was great. it really comes down to personal preference I guess. the 1 watt mode on the 6505mh through my 2X12 cab is great for late night noodling so I use it like that a lot.
the 6505MH is also great to grab and bring to rehearsals if I don't need any effects for that session. I leave my 1X12 cab at the rehearsal space so if we're gong over songs that are straight clean/distortion guitar tones I just grab and go. it's so easy

A picture is worth 900 words and we've been doing some filming anyway - so here's our friend Joel having some fun with the ZEN wall. The KHE switchers out of shot are worth their weight in gold. Bunch of other heads and combos about, but that room is a mess.

Mesa Express 5:50+
Laney AOR 50

Looking to add a Wizard MTL later this year and then I'll be content.

A year or so ago, it was completely different. Today’s list:

Mesa:

IIB KRG combo (w/ headshell)
IIC+ SRG 1x12 Imbuya (matching Thiele)
CA Tweed 1x12

Berkshire:

The above list will likely change again…..

Most of my guitars and amps are not in the stable....they are wandering around the DFW area.
There are even some in Oklahoma.
Some I haven't seen in years.
They don't call or write.
I go to where they reside yet they don't even acknowledge my presence.
They often don't come out of hiding to even ask for money(I guess that's a good thing).
The worst part is when friends and family ask how they are doing and I just shrug and say "ok....I guess."
Once one popped its head out and startled me. I had know idea it existed. I looked at it for a moment...feeling guilty.
Most of them are in my will. A few of them will not be happy at the reading of said will.
