It started life as a MIM Hendrix Strat. It's got a Tusq Nut, Hipshot Locking Tuners. Callaham Bridge, Wilkinson Locking Saddles and the EMG DG20 pickguard.
Chunky neck?

My solution for my Strat needs

I'm not a strat guy or a straight guy, but I have a few strats and a lot of super strats.
Also, have one of those new Hello Kitty reissues is on the way 😻

Some really say there's some hidden gems in the MIM's. I had a Vintera 70's Tele, and I had no complaints about it. Quality was great, fit & finish spot-on.

Those new Ultras are SICK. Even Ola demo'd one.. This one is REALLY sick..

+1 for the Ultra's and Pro ii's. On the used market these are a LOT of guitar for the money, and I am a huge fan of the asymetric neck plate\heel - feels way better for upper fret access!

I have an SSS strat loaded with PlanetTone pickups. Specifically their DG set. Do not need a humbucker in the bridge, the sound from the single is HUGE. I always wanted an HSS strat though before that so.... I get where you are coming from.

I have never been a Strat guy, even though I've tried, several times. I own several but never play them - always liked how they play but never liked how they sound. I ended up taking a trade on an HSS American Standard Strat a few months ago that I figured I'd sell off for more profit. It instantly became my favorite guitar. I have A/B'd it against tons of other guitars that cost far more and should sound way heavier for the tones I go for. Nope. The Strat has the best heavy sounds, the best mid gain sounds, the best cleans and the best articulation. It puts all my other guitars to shame.

Yikes bro'; it sounds like you may have "got lucky".

Funny how that works - just when you get one with no intention of keeping it, BAM!

I’m absolutely a LP fan. It’s my sound. I love the feel and tone from them.

In my current band we mostly play songs that require a strat, so I went with a Nick Johnston import HSS. It’s a lot of guitar for the money. Eventually I swapped out the pickups for Suhr’s but kept the coil split. The stock pickups aren’t bad but wanted a little more juice.

My semi-pro gigging career was always a SSH strat. As a home producer I'm mostly LP but there's always an S-type of sorts around.

I do fantasise about a lower gain fusion-y type version of me a-la Henderson but I'd prefer a bright neck HB with volume dialled down I think..

I'm in the market for a Strat that covers a lot of ground, including metal. HSS configuration would be ideal, but I don't know much about their humbuckers, or the gazillion models. I had a really nice 60's JV Modified made in Japan that was SSS, and it didn't cut it, from a pickup standpoint. They do have an HSS version in a 50's, but only one color that I don't care for. I planned to go with an HSS pickguard and change out everything, on the JV but got lazy and dumped it.

There's deals out there on USA's being discontinued, (Pro II's, and there's an affordable American Professional with gigbag). Are the Mexican Player II's worth it as an upgrade platform, or is it worth it to just go USA? Are the pickups a step up? Do any have great stock humbuckers? I'm tired of the cookie cutter Charvels and Jacksons. I'd likely look for a hardtail or deck the bridge. I'm also getting too old and impatient fussing with Floyds.

I used to play Ibanez’ and Gibsons but after buying my Fender Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster the other guitars have been sitting in their cases. I love the narrower neck and scalloped fretboard on this Strat vs my other guitars.

Right?? I guess at least I traded some mics I hadn't used in like 10 years for it, so I didn't have any real plans for it, I was just trying to get rid of stuff I didn't need, haha! I will say, at least it's basically killed any GAS for any guitars I have at this point. In fact, I've sold 4 guitars since getting it and am on the fence about 2-3 others, so it all worked out at least haha!

Always have an HSS strat in the stable.
Currently have a Squier 70s CV and an Anderson Pro Am. They're super versatile. Dont dig a SSS Strat much, but love my buddy's Anderson Icon.
