How many of you are Strat guys?

I've gone down a Strat rabbit hole lately too.. didn't think I'd like this one as much as I do, but here we are. Only mods are swapping the pickups for Dimarzios for noise free high gain.. and some black plastics to boot. It sustains as long as my Les Pauls do.

low rent kirk hammett here :ROFLMAO:

I love the late 90's early 2000's Fat Strat Texas Specials and Lone Star strats. Tone Zone in the bridge, always.
stock 5150 combo with puppet master pmeq in the loop -> stock 90's 1960av -> brittle ass natural concrete floor and wall reverb :p

Not exactly a strat guy, but I am an hss and 2 point trem guy... I find a jazzmaster body more comfy and balanced. That said. For a do everything combo I like a mcp afwayu and two of their Woodward singles covers a super wide range of tones. I also like an afwayu with two Texas specials. Throw them in your desired strat and I think you'd be happy.

I'm also not a "pure" Strat guy.

A buddy dealt me his totally hotrodded 2006 MiM Standard HSS Strat (with floating trem that stays in tune woo hoo!) because he is even less of a Strat guy. Sounds awesome to me, loads of fun to play and fits in well with my other two somewhat maligned guitars:

1980 Gibson SG-R1

All original 1984 USA (San Dimas 3xxx s/n) Charvel HH pointy headstock shredder

The wildest thing is that all three neck profiles are very similar though, gotta say the Charvel neck is "a cut above" the others.

I'm zeroing in on an American Professional II that the guy swapped the pickguard in and put in a '59/JB HH. He's asking $1099. It's mint with upgraded Locking Tuners as well. If the JB is too tubby, I have an TB-5..

After talking about your collection, I know why you sold that amp to me now. I still love the thing too, lol. People have no idea what's even hiding on the left. I need to make it to your rehearsal space, that Snorkler must but be insane. 😍

A HSS strat is a must have, nothing sounds quite like a good strat.....Mine is an American Series from the mid 2000s.....I put an Air Zone(Parallel/series) push pull switch on the tone pot..the tone pot itself is not in the circuit for the bridge pickup(only the switch) tone pot itself only connected on the Area 61 mid, Injector Neck .....Installed a blower switch....moved the horrible stock strat vol knob position AWAY from my picking hand.... Love this guitar...

Where did you find that small circular switch??

i had an early 90's American Standard & Converted it to a Single Hum/Single Volume with an EMG 85 & man i miss that guitar.

Thank you!
NP! Works great...same switch as the Fender Passing Lane....just have to drill the right size hole in your pickguard and super glue the block to it, then screw the switch into the block. This was a custom pickguard and it matched quite nicely to the original Fender color....I had to whittle out the Fender SC pup covers to get the Dimarzio singles to fit into them so it would all match but it worked great! Very resonant and slinky bending guitar...low action...love it.
