Well, one slider would be a level, and the other 5 would be used for adjusting freq bands.......no?
No.

Damn! I thought one of those was a slider? My bad...

The only conjecture here has come form you. EVH used a Vox AC15 into an attenuator, then into a Marshall 100 watt head - sometimes into an H/H power-amp. Please refer to the pic...

As I said, you obviously know very little, but seem happy to spew "facts". You don't even know it's a 6 band EQ. If you'd ever plugged one into a NMV Marshall, maybe you'd know what it sounds like too, huh?

Nothing I've said has been conjecture. You post a "pre-signed" days gig pic showing a Vox on stage and suddenly you know for a fact the old EVH tone is a slaved Vox and that a Vox was "for sure" used on VHI and WACF.

I'll ask again... What is your proof that a Vox slaved into a Marshall was the tone on VHI and WACF?

EVH used tons of different amp in those days as I said...

Let me see - do I trust Guy Hedrick who rebuilt Ed's Marshall and is also a personal friend of Ed's, my ears, and a picture of Ed using his Vox/Marshall rig - or you? :scared:

Once again. No proof of anything. Just more conjecture, just like everyone else.

As far as Guy Hedrick - talk to 5 "personal friends" of Ed from that time and you'll get 5 different answers. What does it matter that he worked on Ed's Marshall at one time?

Your ears and a picture. :hys:

Care to explain why NO pictures from the VHI tour rig show a Vox? Well... I guess he could get that tone without it, huh...

BTW - I've not definitively said he used any specific amp on VHI and WACF (I said I seriously doubted the Vox theory), so you don't have to believe me. Oh, except for about the part about the 6 band...

Here we go again :checkthisout: :checkthisout:
Doesn't get good until people start telling Friedman, Suhr, Thorn that they weren't there and don't know what they are talking about.
Never mind they know the guy and have /had the actual amp in question.

My post was for the purpose of other to read, and possibly have some fun with... None of us can say for sure exactly what brand of underwear Ed was wearing the day he recorded "Running With The Devil" - but that's not really the point - is it? the point is, is that this is one of the sure methods Ed used in getting his sound. And yes - anyone with an ear can hear that Ed isn't playing through a Marshall with gain pedals!

You jumped into the thread for no other reason than to stir-up shit! :jerkit: Your obviously a narcissist personality, who can't stand it when someone else has info that you're not privy too. I've posted a pic of Ed playing through a Vox/Marshall rig - where is your proof? Oh wait! You're Steve from let me guess - L.A. - right? The pointed Charvel "glam" guitar gave you away!

Friedman,Suhr and Thorn......Please, Friedman and suhr looked at the amp in the 90s,Eds main amp guy was Jose Arrendondo in the 70s,Eds amp went though many changes before friedman and suhr looked at it,ive been though this before on this subject.

There's Guy Hedrick: Custom circuit designer/builder, engineer, patent owner of the GT100 amplifier, author... Then there's you H Golf Sport - the golf cart mechanic! :hys:

He actually used the first Dumble ever made. HAD kept that amp a secret until he heard about this young Dutchman. EVH was allowed to borrow it to record, but then one day when the recording was done, he accidentally dialled up HAD. Dumble took great insult to this, and had it returned to California immediately where it remains hidden. EVH supposedly tried to buy it back for $13.6 million dollars, but Dumble angrily refused:

"NO! Your punishment will be to play Marshall's and whatever else you can scrape up off the floor!"

Seriously... It's true. I have talked to many close friends of Eddie, and I have brilliant ears too.

Of course... the inevitable backpedal. I guess you don't know for sure that a Vox was used on VHI and WACF, which is all I was really saying...

  You are obviously a person who spews stuff as fact and then has to backtrack. You have no info for me to be jealous of.

echodrive":a05e8eyd said:

Proof of what? All I said is that I doubt VHI and WACF were a slaved Vox, which is an OPINION and, as such, doesn't require proof. And once again, a picture of a Vox onstage at one gig doesn't prove anything except that Ed had a Vox onstage at one gig. Also, as I said, every stage pic I've seen of when they were actually signed includes no Vox amps as you'll surely agree...

echodrive":a05e8eyd said:

Close but not quite.

Then there's you just echoing heresay and innuendo.

I'm no Marshall or vh expert by any means but ill take the opinions of the guy who is working on his rig and knows marshals inside out thanks.
Got to go back to work and get the rest of the golfcarts ready for afternoon tee times.

Not true. It was a Vox. There is a picture of Ed with the Vox onstage and that proves he recorded VHI and WACF with it.
