There are other writings in the early church that spread the rubbish that Joseph was an old man when he married Mary. It was an attempt to discredit the Bible sand say his siblings were from another marriage to make Mary an "always virgin". Evil men corrupting the Bible because they felt it's not sufficient.

All this rubbish is the whole reason why the reformation tossed that stuff out and rightly so. It's complete rubbish and it obfuscated the essential truths that people need to believe for salvation and replaced it with like a Mary cult and other cultish practices.

see this is the issue.
you can't do that.
you can't say "well you cant disprove it".
the bible doesn't clearly address explicitly many things.
for example the bible doesn't address pedophelia directly.

is it your position that pedophelia is ok because there isn't any explicit texts against it?

I think we all deserve an answer to this one.

You didn't though. Scripture doesn't say anything about Joseph's age or marital status so really you are speculating even more since you don't have the holy tradition as an addendum for details not found in scripture. You're just arguing to argue which is par for the course for you.

Well it rails against immorality and I think we can all agree it's about as immoral and sinful as it comes in that category.

Also Matthew 18:6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea."

Imagine what he'd say about harming them sexually.

but that's not what you are doing with mary
you are making assertive statements - "she is holy" "she never died"

the burden of proof is on you for making claims that are directly against scripture.

anyone can clearly see that his statement that orthodoxy and the bible are in harmony is a joke.

What about where I ask him what his communion wine and bread tastes like and then ask him not to lie in his answer.

or where I asked him 18 times if he believes he is eating actual flesh and blood.
or if the bible is the infallible, inerrant word of God.

really wish we had a moderator that could go pull all the questions he asked of me and how many answers I gave compared to how many he ducked.
