All he says is "his church says so" as if that's justification.or where I asked him 18 times if he believes he is eating actual flesh and blood.
or if the bible is the infallible, inerrant word of God.
really wish we had a moderator that could go pull all the questions he asked of me and how many answers I gave compared to how many he ducked.
Ok, I'll compile a list of all the times you were asked toBye.
correct, which any intelligent individual viewing from the outside should be very cautious of because He could literally claim anything. All he says is "his church says so" as if that's justification.
and @acceptance I publicly apologize for calling you an insect.
It was rude and I shouldn't have done it.
Id like to say it's because of your repeated "I defer to Von" comments, but there really is no excuse.
I genuinely want people to experience the goodness of Christ and have a right view of the scriptures.
It often felt like you were instigating and that frustrated me.
How is that fundamentally different than "The Bible says so"?All he says is "his church says so" as if that's justification.
They will be treated by God as everyone else outside the OC is treated. It doesn't mean they are going to hell but there is definitely a pecking order in heaven and that can be demonstrated scripturally. Those who live in obedience to Christ and his church and in great humility will be considered great in heaven. Part of that is obedience to the OC i.e making confession, participating in the eucharist regularly, fulfilling a prayer rule, possibly making sojourns to holy places or monastery, visiting the sick or imprisoned, or just helping those who need it without expecting anything in return. Your life needs to show the fruit of orthodoxy.@VonBonfire what does the OC say about those identifying as christians outside the OC?
Well it certainly confirms his claim that the OC and the Bible are in “harmony” as he stated multiple times is complete BS.For sake of argument, let's say that the Orthodox Church teaches that Mary was sinless and that contradicts the Bible. My next question is, so what? Does it invalidate the claimed authority of the OC? If yes, how?

This just reaches the peak of Mt Stupid. They will be treated by God as everyone else outside the OC is treated. Baptized OC members will be held to a higher standard than those outside the church. To those who are given much, much will be required. .
I’ll answer this and the other question tomorrow, but you should already know the answer here. For sake of argument, let's say that the Orthodox Church teaches that Mary was sinless and that contradicts the Bible. @VonBonfire what does the OC say about those identifying as christians outside the OC?
How about, say, attending a christian rock concert at a converted k-mart and then listening to a pastor give a TED talk, having some crackers and juice, voting republican and calling it a day?making confession, participating in the eucharist regularly, fulfilling a prayer rule, possibly making sojourns to holy places or monastery, visiting the sick or imprisoned, or just helping those who need it without expecting anything in return
I'm guessing you'd say that it proves your argument that the OC has no authority in tradition or interpretation and so on.I’ll answer this and the other question tomorrow, but you should already know the answer here.
If someone is devout I think that the Lord will recognize that aside some of the trappings related to the various churches. They are like orthodox people who haven't yet found orthodoxy because it's not prevalent in the west but they still mostly live in an orthodox way i.e prayer and fasting. No one can fault them for that. But. all who enter heaven will do so as orthodox christians because the body of Christ is in union, not divided. Therefore there will be no other denominations there because heresy isn't part of heaven and the OC is the visible body of Christ on earth. How about, say, attending a christian rock concert at a converted k-mart and then listening to a pastor give a TED talk, having some crackers and juice, voting republican and calling it a day?
Where does it say that in the Bible? If someone is devout I think that the Lord will recognize that aside some of the trappings related to the various churches. Notice he has made himself the authority on biblical matters. He's his own bishop. That's the problem with protestantism. There is no real authority there and the authority that is there disagrees with the other authorities there. It's pure confusion.I'm guessing you'd say that it proves your argument that the OC has no authority in tradition or interpretation and so on.
Yes. Every protestant is their own ultimate authority on scripture and christian life as they decide which interpretation and so on is correct. I heard that Thomas Jefferson ended up removing whole books from the bible. That's the inevitable conclusion.Notice he has made himself the authority on biblical matters. He's his own bishop. That's the problem with protestantism. There is no real authority there and the authority that is there disagrees with the other authorities there. It's pure confusion.
