@DanTravis62 here's that page/schenker style blues lick I was talking about (right at 0:04 - 0:05 mark). recorded it on iPhone so if it's tough to hear, sorry bout that.

wanted to do this at 180bpm but this is about 150-155 and its about as fast as it gets. I don't know if you have trouble with these boomer bendy licks but they are definitely one of my achilles heels

That sounds kickass! It reminds me of Schenker or Randy Rhoads, for sure

I bet you can get it really close to tempo, honestly, if not get all the way there

You might have to stutter the bends and cut them off to get it up to speed, but the rest of it looks totally doable

Dude I spent like an hour on it last night lol

When I couldn’t get it, that was when I decided tracks done hah

Something about the mechanics and my fingers not meshing. Probably need to spend more time learning boomer licks and breaking it down like you said.

I’ll save all the boomer licks for the next riff wars challenge lol

Ok, I've shortened the track considerably (and with no real editing tools, the ending is kinda abrupt), I figured, I rather have something up now than keep tweaking ad nauseum....

Please keep in mind, this is my first time with a DAW in ~20 years, I have no controller, just a mouse.... 😆

Cool tone, even cooler riffs

I dig the flamenco section!

that was awesome dude, spill the beans on tone (guitar/amp used)

the harmonized parts were a really killer touch and the flamenco part.....totaly panty melter 🤘

Well...speaking of beans... :p

guitar is my ESP Horizon NT-II with a Duncan SH-14 Custom 5 in the bridge.
But yeah, tones are all my heavily tweaked Pod X3 patches, where I used some EQ tricks from Glenn Delaune, as I was quite involved in the X3 patch community 15 years ago or so.

Many thank. 😉

Btw, I re-uploaded it, where I added a harmony to the final riff as well. After listening back, I felt that was missing.

I really like the SLO patches and V30 4x12 on the old line 6 pod software, I never used a bean but their interface with the pod software and it actually sounded quite good

They needed a ton of tweaking, as you say, but you can wrangle some good tones out of it!

Dude you're the absolute champ for rocking the bean POD...thats OG level shit. You could have given me a million guesses and I would not have guessed it was the bean.

Playing and tone, both absolutely top notch!

This isn't an entry, and it's an old old song, but this is a track I did with the pod SLO model a long time back

It's buzzy but not terrible at all
