Why can't Akira Takasaki use an amp as cool as what we have?

LOVE the JVM!!!!

3 years mine has been going strong

Bah! Yours is in a head box made out of endangered hardwoods which the harvesting of probably involved displacing a small indigenous tribe. You are golden. THAT'S what I'm talking about. He didn't even take the trouble to make our listening and concert going experience better by putting it in a better headbox. I'm telling you, he hates us and is punishing us in every way. He must be a tortured soul and part of me just yearns to save him, like a lost puppy. If we could just bring him to Rig Talk or better yet TGP we can turn that kid around. Show him the way.

You are right and I am going to fix this by doing what you do and find a marshall that is better than a marshall! I mean I can't be seen with some off the shelf marshall, I need to have in my basement a boutique marshall that brings words such as "blooms", "woody", and "rich overtones"!

Going by Akira's thoughts your photo op for your cd would have been way less work, throw your GT-8 on the floor and snap the shot.

First of all noob, that wasn't a photo op. That was just a totally natural, candid photo taken in the typical setup in my studio on just another normal day.

Also, I have to think of the consumer of my product. When you release a CD like mine, you expect to sell somewhere in the triple digits. That's right, I said TRIPLE! This isn't some fly by night, grab whatever amp just came out of hock at the local pawn shop sort of deal. You think Akira expects to sell in the triple digits? See? (Curt Anderson's CD "For Some Time Now" has just been certified Lint by the RIAA for sales in excess of double digits and is available by clicking on the link in his signature. And if you order now, your CD will include a padded envelope around it for shipping)

Heck, if you wanted to buy the top amp on my rack from my CD cover, you would have to go out into the middle of the California desert. You would see dead cattle skulls left and right, rattlesnakes, poisoned watering holes, and all kinds of clandestine Air Force operations. There you find a guy, if you can find him, who NO LONGER MAKES the model of amp I used. Checkmate. Heck, one of my Peacemakers new, (if they were still available but NLA so sorry) costs as much as three of the amps Akira is using if you bought them used. And he probably did and he probably only changes the tubes with readily available, wrong side of the iron curtain produced tubes. Obviously, I care more about my friends and forum mates than Akira does about his fans.

And this is the thanks I get? Smart assed remarks to my thread? I am basically trying to call my forum buds together for an intervention for poor, uninformed Akira and you guys want to talk from an angle that maybe Akira's perspective is more healthy than mine? This angers me so much and yet unlike Akira I have a FORUM to educate me daily, fuel my GAS, and normally back me when I come upon a conspiracy of lazyness and cheapness by a guy some people think can play guitar.

The quest for a Marshall that is better than a Marshall is a valiant one. It would be much easier to kidnap mentoneman and put him in your basement to utter tone words like the ones your are trying to string together as poorly as Akira's tech stringing together that sad rig.

It's also pretty sad that Akira is playing an amplifier that costs less than most of the new attenuators out there. Cheap ass.

Attenuators? Pffftt... I've seen pickups that cost more than his amps.

Thank you for saying something that should be so obvious but people ignore because his guitar is pointy. I'd also like to point out that this isn't the correct Loudness singer, but some old, homeless guy that kind of looks like him. I'm sure he was cheaper too.

We may be elitist... But that boy is a straight up poor-boy douche!

Stock Marshall... Oh how I laughed.

I bet he hasn't even removed the plastic behind the neck-plate.

I think his tone sounds good. How do you know that JVM isn't modded??!

I used my x-ray goggles to peer inside the amp... I didn't see any goop... It's stock

Don't forget the JMP-1 pre amps into the Roger Mayer RM-6550 power amps that he used for YEARS (which you can see in the background). Even most of the JVM lovers wouldn't touch the JMP-1. ;)

This thread is a joke thread right???

JVM's are really great amps IMO...

Also... FWIW... I played Marshall JMP-1's with Mesa and VHT power amps live for years and was told night after night by total strangers my tone was amazing...

I think it is just a cry for help from Akira. He's lost. He's so removed from what is necessary for a world renown recording and touring guitar hero to use on stage. I knew that some of us with our vast experience could help him. I started this thread in the hopes that one of us could show Akira that he can't be happy with the tone from an amp that you can just drive down to the corner and buy. I live in LA. There are more Guitar Centers here than 7-11's. You can buy a JVM on every corner.

Sure, some of you may be duped into thinking he is getting a great tone on this. But it's not that his tone is great, it's that we feel sorry for him and our sympathy is filling in the blanks aurally where the JVM is lacking. It has to be lacking right? They're only like $1200 used. A guy brought one into my store and I put on latex gloves before testing it out. I can't touch one of those and then go home and touch my Mojave. Who knows what sort of germs I may introduce into my studio.

Who the fuck do you work for Mojave, 7-11, GC Akira or a studio make up your mind and go sell some CD's!

OMG!!!!!

I agree with Kurt and Ke2..just shut RT down this ends it all! Fucking best post ever!

I don't even know why this url is still active. I post paragraphs to try and give some vital facts and opinions and hopefully remedies for our poor, lost Akira, and barzini comes in........ one freaking line and destroys every post on every forum ever.

If he was a comedian, he'd come out, say one sentence then "thank you, good night" and we'd all be sitting there cheering for two weeks waiting for there to be an encore. This almost reminds me of the Monty Python sketch "The funniest joke in the world" but that's 10 minutes long. He did it in one sentence.
